Bedgrove Day in the Park takes place every other year in Bedgrove Park Ambleside Aylesbury HP21 9TT and has been running for many years.
We plan the event for the second Saturday of July which means we don’t clash with school holidays and ensures maximum attendance.
The event is organised by a small sub committee of The Bedgrove Residents & Community Association, a charity which encompasses 3000 plus homes.
We book the whole of Bedgrove Park including the community centre and car park for the day from 7am to 7pm and the event runs from 12am to 5pm where attendance is between 300 – 500 depending on the weather. The park is mostly flat so we have no problems siting the various visitor attractions. We have stewards from the association on duty all day to direct suppliers and visitors.
We have live music, pony rides, zorbing, bungee jumping, inflatables, side shows, craft and charity stalls, food vans and bar etc. We also have arena events which include a very popular family fun dog show, local dance schools, martial arts displays etc. Thames Valley Police and the other emergency services usually attend and are well received by our visitors.
The event is advertised in our association newsletter which is hand delivered to all homes on our estate. We also use social media, local radio, posters and flyers and have a website www.bedgrove.org as well as two Facebook pages Bedgrove Residents and Bedgrove Day in the Park.
