Description:

Anathema Emporium hosts a series of seasonal Witch Markets in Bournemouth, Dorset, bringing together independent makers, artists, readers and small creative businesses from across the South Coast. Our markets take place throughout the year inside the beautiful Victorian Royal Arcade in Boscombe, creating a unique indoor market filled with creativity, folklore, spirituality and alternative culture. Inspired by the turning of the wheel of the year, each event celebrates themes connected to nature, magic, craft and the changing seasons.

Visitors travel from across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and the wider Dorset area to explore the markets, discover handmade goods and support independent creators. The atmosphere is welcoming, creative and a little bit magical, attracting people who appreciate craftsmanship, artistry, spirituality and unusual finds.

The Anathema Witch Markets have grown into a much-loved gathering for Dorset’s creative and alternative community. Many of our traders return throughout the year, building lasting relationships with customers who come specifically to discover independent artists, handmade goods and magical curiosities. Our markets are carefully curated to create an inspiring and diverse collection of stalls, and we are always excited to welcome new makers whose work fits the creative, earthy, gothic or mystical spirit of the events.

We Are Particularly Interested In Traders Offering • Witchcraft and pagan inspired goods • Gothic or alternative artwork and illustration • Handmade jewellery and adornments • Herbal products and natural apothecary creations • Candles, incense and ritual tools • Crystals and spiritual supplies • Independent artists, illustrators and printmakers • Handmade soaps, skincare and natural body products • Slow fashion, textiles and wearable art • Folklore, nature and earth-inspired crafts • Curious, unusual and magical creations. We especially welcome artists whose work draws on folklore, mythology, dark art, gothic aesthetics, nature symbolism and the strange or mystical. Our visitors love discovering unique, meaningful and beautifully made things, and traders who offer original work tend to do especially well.

What We're Looking For. To maintain the creative spirit of the markets, we prioritise traders whose work is: • Handmade or artist-designed • Ethically sourced or fair trade • Environmentally conscious • Produced by small independent businesses • Creative, unusual or artisan-led. We particularly love work inspired by folklore, nature, magic, spirituality, gothic art and alternative culture.

What We're Not Looking For. To keep the markets special and supportive of independent creators, we generally do not accept: • Mass-produced or generic retail goods • Dropshipping or imported fast retail products • Large commercial brands or MLM products • Items widely available through online marketplaces. Our focus is on handmade craft, ethical goods, independent artists and original creations. Please Note To keep the markets interesting for visitors and supportive of independent makers, trader spaces are carefully curated and limited within each product category. Due to the popularity of the markets and the limited space within the historic Royal Arcade, spaces are allocated to ensure a balanced and inspiring mix of stalls at each event.

Interested in Trading? If your work is handmade, ethical, environmentally conscious, artist-led or creatively inspired, and you feel it would suit the magical and alternative atmosphere of our markets, we would love to hear from you. If you create something beautiful, unusual or meaningful, you may have just found your people.
